How long does the home staging course take to complete?

The course may take from 12 weeks to complete depending on your experience, current level of expertise at the start and also the number of hours each week that you can dedicate to working through the modules. Timescale can be longer,  is totally flexible and is dictated by you.    

For those with experience who wish to gain the CHSSP Certification its possible to fast track through, submit examples of work from your portfolio and customer testimonials and be awarded CHSSP Certified Home Staging and Styling Professional with Certificate and CHSSP emblem logo for your use within your business. 

 Is there a time limit on completing the home staging course?

No.  You can take as long as you need. The Home Staging Course Manual and pack is designed to remain current.  There are resources with a student log in available online as long as you need them and they will be updated from time to time.  

Is the course suitable for complete beginners?    

The home staging course work provides the information and guidance to support the whole process of starting, growing and running a successful home staging and styling business.  The CHSSP Home Staging and Styling Professional Course is suitable for complete beginners or for experienced Home Stagers wishing to provide customers with professional certification evidence.  Become a home stager with CHSSP™

What are the document templates on the CD ROM 1?

There are 47 documents, stationery, templates and forms. Some are to help you with the coursework. Some are for the course work assignments. Some are for your home staging business start up and some are for running a Home Staging Business.  

Home Staging Course Work

What course work is involved?

Each of the 8 Modules above has a practical Assignment Brief within it.  Each Module Brief guides you through the process of acquiring and practicing the skills required and setting up a home staging and styling business. So for Module 3 'Building a home staging portfolio', for instance, the course explains how to find projects to work on, what to do, how to take before and after photographs and how to develop a home staging portfolio.

What does Module 1 Assignment involve?

The Home Staging Action plan assignment brief provides 40 photos on DVD of a property requiring home staging. You are given the client's requirements and asked to produce your recommendations in a summary report template provided for you. When you return the Action plan Assignment you are automatically sent the actual Action plan for the property plus an Assessment of your own Action plan.  

Are the assignments practical or written?

The assignments are written and practical. The course guides you through issues of business start up, practical home staging projects and running a home staging business.  

How does the Course lead to certification?

We provide support and guide you through Assignments. After the course is completed plus the final self assessment questionnaire your work will be assessed and a laminated certificate showing Professional Status posted to you.

I suppose working on assignments means working on real cases?  

(that's difficult at the moment) I am not sure how that will work - are there any other options?      

You can commence the Course and start to submit Assignments before working on a real case study.  Real case studies can come at the end of the Course or after you start your business.

Much of the Course provides information, examples and checklists to work through to progress your knowledge and skills.

Module 1 Assignment asks you to mark your current skills and knowledge against a set criteria to create both a starting score and an overview of your progress as you continue through the course.  Module 2 uses an example property on DVD and supports you to complete a first Home Staging Action Plan. Module 3 Portfolio building suggests that you work on a room in your own home or that of a family member or friend to get started. 

Many of the Modules have a checklist and supporting Guide to read. Before receiving Professional Certification you will be asked to submit 3 project examples with testimonials. These do not need to be paid work. However, the project examples must show sufficient quality of staging and your Assignments show evidence of professional business communication on the document and Stationery templates provided.

I live overseas can I still order the home staging course?

Yes the same shipping is charged regardless of location and including International postage.  The CHSSP Course can be studied anywhere in the world and Assignments can be submitted by email. 

Does the home staging course teach the differences between Home Staging in England and the United States? 

The CHSSP Course is applicable to Home Staging in different Countries and includes advice from experts in the UK, US, Canada and Australia. There is a Chapter each on Home Staging and Home Staging Business start up in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia on the "Home Staging Business Guide" CD ROM within the Course Pack.

How do I send in course work? 

The Home staging course uses online course assignments which can be sent in by email using the templates provided.

The assessments and Module Brief templates are provided both on the CD sent to you and online.  You will need Microsoft word to simply complete assignments online and return as an attachment to an email. 

When do I send work in?

1.   Complete the first Self assessment questionnaire and submit to register as a student with the CHSSP course.

2.   Complete and submit other Assignments as you complete each stage. Complete Assignments in order or by preference. The course is totally flexible to your chosen timetable.
