‘Kick the gambling habit

and get a new life’

60 reasons, facts, ideas and ways for gambling addicts to kick the habit and get a better life

By Jason Medway

Hi I’m Jason, I’m a gambling addict.

I started gambling when I was 17.  I’m now 28 and I’ve kicked the habit.  But I will always be a gambling addict, I guess.

When I wake up every morning I choose not to gamble that day.  But I do think about it.  I guess I will always be in recovery.

The temptation is less and less all the time now and one day I hope to not even think about the deed of gambling.  Gambling with odds that I can never beat.  In the long run that is.

If I have a weak day I use re-read my 60 reasons and ways to kick the gambling habit to stop me going into the bookies or logging onto online gambling that day.

I haven’t placed a bet now for 12 months and my fiancée suggested I make my thoughts available in a book to other gamblers to share the success I have seen for myself.

I wrote myself a diary of reasons to stop – ways to stop and a chant that I repeated every day and again whenever I felt tempted.  I wrote down things that I did and things that I could do to stop myself gambling.

I can’t guarantee that it will work for you but I can guarantee that if you really do want to stop that if you read my book you will have a better chance of stopping quicker than I did because I’ve put all the best tips in this book which worked for me in the end.

Do you have a problem?

Do you want to stop gambling your life away?

If so then read on …………………

You saw ‘addict’ in this title and have read to here, so I’m guessing you’ve got the feeling you’d like to stop gambling.

Are you a compulsive gambler but want to stop?

If you’d like to stop wasting precious time in the bookies read on………

If you want to quit spending hours on end playing the online poker tables read on………

If you want to quit losing precious relationships read on…………

It doesn’t make any difference if you gamble for thousands, hundreds or free its chancing the odds that gives us the buzz, not always the win.

You’re playing the odds and hoping to beat the system. We do it for the buzz.

And the buzz is slowly killing off your need to do anything much else.

I surely did have a problem.

It took me a long time to wake up to it – that I was ruinning my life.

But I found other things to take place of the gambling buzz and other ways to make money that was more assured.

I introduced other things to my life and gradually replaced the need to gamble with other, more worthwhile things.

Do you have a problem?

Do you want to stop gambling your life away?

If so read on …………………

Are you gambling for the thrill, the buzz or the chance of winning high stakes?

I gambled for the buzz of winning.  That feeling when your bet comes in, the cards give you the upper hand, the roulette wheel stops on your number or you horse comes in………

But the lows, the friends I’ve lost, the relationships with family pushed to breaking point, the crying and the beating myself up when the horse didn’t come in, the bet went the wrong way and my online gambling reached all times high debts – all this made me want to kick the habit.

It was hard but I did it and so can you!

And wow the feeling now is the best high, the biggest buzz, the most amazing aphrodisiac when I walk past the bookies and when I log on and don’t want to hit the online gambling.

Yep all those things and more and now I’ve got a life back and I would like to show you how you could do the same.

This book shows you 60 ideas, reasons and ways to start to recover from a gambling addiction.

Some people have written to me to say they’ve stopped gambling on day 1 – or in 12 days – some in 30 – or 40 – it all depends on your level of addiction and the support you may have in addition to this advice.  If you’ve got someone left in your life who believes you can do it then it’s a massive help.

Then it’s a day at a time from now – slow but sure adding up each day that you manage to keep to the plan.

The book shows you reasons to stop gambling and gives you something else to think about, something else to focus on and thoughts for each day and ways to fill your time with more useful stuff than gambling.

The advice will help you to try and pass the bookies or leave the online gambling alone.

There’s information and links in the ebook on getting extra help like debt management and self help groups and expert support to manage debts and your personal recovery.
